Steve came to St. Augustine in April of 2003 when the church reopened for worship. He is also the vicar of Holy Trinity, Sydenham, the adjoining parish. Steve and his wife Jos first arrived in the UK from Canada in 2001 as a part of a sabbatical year. A planned 3 month stay as a locum priest in central London stretched to a year. They felt a stong pull of the Holy Spirit to make the stay longer and moved to southeast London in 2002. Steve was ordained in 1989 and has served parishes in Canada on the Labrador Coast and in St. John's, Newfoundland.
Honourary Assistant Curate: The Reverend Sara Scott
‘The Revd. Sara Scott has been Honorary Assistant Curate at St. Augustine's since May 2004. Sara is a non-stipendiary (self-supporting) priest and was ordained in the year 2000. Among other things she works as a professional counsellor with post-graduate students and has lived locally in New Cross and Brockley for 24 years. She has three daughters, the youngest of whom is now at university. Sara is very interested in creating ceramic sculptures and in helping to organize arts events.’
