Notices for the Period July 13th - 20th
Next Sunday, July 20th - 9th Sunday after Trinity 10:30am - Holy Eucharis Guest Presider and Preacher – The Rev. Alan Dupuy
Today - The Vicarage Garden Party is today Sunday, July 13th from 2-5pm at the Vicarage 1 Sydenham Park Road. All members of the congregation, young and old, are welcome. If it rains we will move inside.
At Holy Trinity this Wednesday - The Sydenham Society – has done so much to serve the local community by benefitting residents in so many ways. On Wednesday, July 16th, at 2pm in our Church Centre, Pat Trembath, a vice-president of the society with which she has been involved for 25 years will be speaking about the society and its achievements. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear about local issues – everyone is welcome, so do come along.
Holiday Time – Steve will be considered on holiday from the afternoon of Sunday July 20th. For any emergencies please be in touch with Valerie Shirley for Holy Trinity or with Sara Scott for St. Augustine. Of course, you could also be in touch with one of the wardens. Steve will be 'back from holiday' on Saturday, August 2nd just in time for two weddings taking place that day at St. Augustine.
The Underpinning Works are due to begin on Monday, 4th August but there may be some activity before that time. It is expected that we will have the contractors with us until just before Christmas. There will be some reconfiguration of the parking space around the church building and part of the grounds will be used for storage of equipment etc. So please be prepared for some changes. Access to the church will be through the main South Doors entrance only, until the building works have been completed. As there will be a great deal of dust etc at various times, we will be taking the action of covering up as much of the furniture, pews, altars, etc during the week. We will also be putting away anything that can easily be moved so that we can minimize the cleaning. We will need some help from members of the congregation to do this. We hope to do the clearing this week and on Saturday morning (July 19).
Here Our Prayer – Our part on the day will be to have the church open for prayer and offer a prayer walk through our grounds on the Saturday. This initiative of Churches Together in Sydenham and Forest Hill will be taking place over the weekend of September 12-14. We will need people to help out so please do speak with our vicar Steve or our curate Sara.
